Vivek Ramaswamy Is Open To Taking JD Vance’s Place As Ohio Senator
Vivek Ramaswamy, who has been tapped to help lead a federal government cost-cutting effort with Elon Musk, could soon be a United States Senator. President-elect Donald Trump has been urging Ramaswamy to take Vice President-elect JD Vance’s Ohio seat in the Senate.
Ramaswamy, a biotech company founder, who ran in the 2024 Republican Presidential primaries, and quickly gained attention for his crusade against the left wing’s identity politics, went from obscurity to center stage in American politics within a year.
His articulation of not just the dangers of identity politics and wokeness, but how they are fundamentally opposed to what America stands for, made him a prominent ally of Donald Trump.
In fact, if Donald Trump had chosen not to run for President in 2024, there is a possibility that Ramaswamy could have won the Republican nomination. Unsurprisingly, Ramaswamy’s calling out of identity politics has enraged the left, and he has been a target of left wing smear campaigns for the last year, including this article.
Donald Trump’s desire for Ramaswamy to replace JD Vance as Ohio’s Senator illustrates that Ramaswamy and Vance are almost certainly next in line to carry the Republican mantle after Trump.
Much of the challenges for Trump have not been his ideas, which are exactly what the political right wants, but his articulation of them. Vivek Ramaswamy and JD Vance have no problem with the articulation of Trump’s ideas and theories.
And with JD Vance vacating the Senate, if Ramaswamy takes his place, Ohio will have essentially a like for like swap. The only thing keeping the 2028 GOP ticket from including both Vance and Ramaswamy is the fact that they are both from the state of Ohio, meaning that they would forfeit Ohio’s electoral votes, unless one of them became a resident of another state.
Someone like Ramaswamy must stay in politics, because he can keep the MAGA message going in a way that most Republican politicians can’t. And it is much more feasible to run for President in the future as a Senator, than as someone who works in an agency to cut government spending.
Of course, Donald Trump became President, having no political experience before. But a Senator Ramaswamy is good for Ohio, for the MAGA movement, and quite possibly for America.
Race based identity politics might be dead. We need people like Vivek Ramaswamy to finish it completely. Let’s see what he does.
