Israel Has The Upper Hand Against Iran
Israel’s strikes against Iran hit several of Tehran’s most advanced air defenses, exposing Iran’s vulnerability to future attacks. During the strikes on Saturday, Israeli warplanes struck Iranian military assets in three provinces.
This included three Russian-supplied aerial defense systems, known as S-300, according to US and Israeli officials. This response to Iran’s 180-missile attack shows the disparity in power and ability between Israel and Iran.
Iran has long tried to position itself as the leader of the Muslim world, despite being a non Arab, Shia theocracy, in a region where Sunni Arabs form the majority of the Muslim world.
To get past this hurdle, Iran has tried to position itself as the protector of the Palestinian people, a cause that is important to most of the Muslim world. This has led to a more confrontation approach from the Iranian regime to Israel, as the Israelis have prosecuted their war against Hamas and Hezbollah.
But Iran has seemingly bit off more than it can chew in their conflict with Israel so far. Israel has been forced by their history and circumstances to be top their militarily in a way that Iran has not.
These are the opening salvos of the conflict though, and we don’t know what new twists will come about. But as of now, Israel has the upper hand against Iran.
