Joe Biden needs others to carry him across the finish line. Biden took the stage at a Democratic fundraiser on Thursday alongside former Democratic Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. In typical leftist, Orwellian fashion, the three suggested that Donald Trump was a threat to democracy.

Besides the fact that the left’s claims of Donald Trump threatening democracy is projection, as theirs is the side that suppresses opposing views, this get together of Democratic Presidents once again reminded us that Joe Biden cannot win unless he is carried by others.

Mr. Biden is uninspiring. He is also mentally declining. He has disastrous polls, especially on the economy. No matter how much the media tries to cover for Biden, Americans do not hold him in high esteem. Now, such problems are not unique to Biden.

Many Presidents have had unpopular times in their Presidencies, or simply were unpopular. But those Presidents have had the capability to try to remedy these problems by taking the lead. Mr. Biden clearly cannot be the driver of the turnaround.

Donald Trump always had a loyal base. Barack Obama had charisma. George W Bush had the benefit of a more conservative America. Bill Clinton had the ability to read people and an electorate. All of these men had some core base of support to build from.

While Joe Biden does have pavlovian Trump hate as a base, that can only go so far. At some point you have to give people a reason to vote for you. The American system is very personality driven at the top. In parliamentary systems, you vote for a member of a party to be your representative. The party with the most members elected has their leader become Prime Minister.

In that system, there isn’t as much a necessity to get people excited for the individual. In the US system, you vote for the person to be President. And Biden, an older white man, does not inspire the people in the increasingly identity politics focused Democratic Party.

That is why Biden needs others to carry him. Both Clinton and Obama have charisma that Biden lacks. They can get people onside just by showing up. And very often, they can articulate the case for Biden better than Biden can himself.

As always, the left will have the powers that be try to tip the scales in their favor. Whether attempting to ban Trump fro being on the ballot or libelous demagoguery from left wing media, Biden will have the wind at his back. But even with that, he cannot win on his own.
