Why Neymar will REJECT Saudi Arabia to join MLS
Neymar Jr. has a massive offer on the table to join Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, per the top transfer pundit, Fabrizio Romano. The offer would see Neymar earn hundreds of millions of dollars per year, and make him the latest European Player to land in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. But we say not so fast.
Take a step back and think about Neymar’s career. Aside from being one of the most skillful players of this generation, he certainly enjoys the lifestyle that is being a professional footballer. To put it simply, there are no legal nightclubs in Saudi Arabia. Now counter that with living in Los Angeles, playing for a club like LAFC or LA Galaxy and instantly becoming the most famous celebrity in the city of celebrities. It’d be a hard opportunity to pass up, if presented.
Neymar has also always had an affinity for American sports culture. He’s good friends with Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler, and has attended various NBA games in his life. He would not have this sort of access in Saudi Arabia. Sure he would be get paid more money than he has ever earned in his career, but at this point does it even matter for him anymore? If MLS presents an offer to Neymar that is even half as good monetarily, Neymar will jump on it. If PSG refuse to let him go for Free, with the MLS Transfer window now being closed, Saudi Arabia will be the destination for the Brazilian.
