“Opportunities multiply as they are seized”

When you are able to seize an opportunity, not only do you increase your chances of immediate success, you increase your chances of new and further opportunities. The multiplication of positive outcomes is what Sun Tzu refers to in his quote.

Think of every choice you make and every action you take. Each action and each choice leads to new actions and new choices for you to take, which would never have become available had you not made the previous decision.

The decisions you have to make as a result of opportunities you did and did not seize can be either positively or negatively affected by what you chose to do. Thus, all your actions have a multiplication effect.

When you seize and opportunity and advance in the world, you will inevitably see doors open for you that would never have been possible had you not seized that first opportunity.

One thing you do leads to another, and soon you are walking down the road that is your life. That is why we call this, when it is positive, momentum, and call this, when negative, a spiral.

Making a good choice does not guarantee future success, just as missing an opportunity does not doom you to failure. But always keep your eyes open for opportunities as they come, because one can always change the course of your life and give you options you never could have dreamed of.
