Trump’s Job approval surges to highest in political career, as he attempts to implement his agenda

President Trump’s first week job approval has surged to 52.3%, per the RCP Average. This is a stark contrast to his first term, where his approval rating never got higher than 49%.

During his first three days in office, Trump has signed a slew of executive orders related to immigration, DEI, de-regulation, and increasing energy production. Trump has so far rescinded a staggering 78 Biden-era executive orders.

Trump alluded to these orders as part of his inaugural address, promising to usher in a new ‘Golden Age in America’. The Trump Administration’s actions so far reflect a feeling that the American people have given them a clear mandate of change in Washington, after winning the popular vote and the Electoral College decisively.

While a “honeymoon phase” post election victory is the norm in politics, Trump recognizes that he has to move quick, as the 2026 midterms are just around the corner.

Next up will be trying to pass his “Big, beautiful bill” through slim majorities in both chambers of congress. This bill is set to include new tax cuts, and increased funding to tackle the border crisis.
