President Trump delivered an optimistic inaugural address, making the case to Americans that under his presidency, America will be better off than ever before.
Using phrases like, “The Golden Age of America begins right now”, and “Americas decline is over”, Trump’s attempt to get the American people behind his Administration was clear.
Trump also touched on his journey back to the presidency, including the assassination attempt that took almost took his life, stating “I was saved by God to Make America Great Again”.
On policy, Trump vowed to de-regulate, lower taxes, and increase energy production, “Drill baby drill”. He also touched on crime and the border crisis vowing to declare a National Emergency on day one. As part of his border plan, he also promised to take the fight to the drug cartels stating, “We will be designating the Cartels as foreign terrorist organizations”.
On the subject of Government, Trump gave a nod to Elon Musk, his friend and creator of the new department (DOGE), stating “My Government will establish the Department of Government Efficiency”. Trump also gave an ode to Martin Luther King Jr. day, where he vowed to make Dr. King’s dream, “a reality”.
Trump will now head to the White House to begin his first day, where a slew of executive orders are waiting to be signed.
