Trump survives second assassination attempt – What We Know
West Palm Beach, FL – Donald Trump was the victim of yet another attempt on his life on Sunday while he was playing a round of golf at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
In a message to his supporters, Trump stated: “I AM SAFE AND WELL!”
West Palm Beach Sheriff, Ric Bradshaw said in a press conference that Trump was within 400 yards of the would be assassin before Secret Service spotted the barrel of high powered rifle and engaged him. As Secret Service fired on the suspect, Trump’s inner detail tackled Trump and ushered him to safety.
The suspect who is identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, fled the scene and was apprehended shortly after by law enforcement.
The suspects social media posts, have begun to paint a picture of his possible motive. Per his suspected X account, he posted anti-Trump statements and was deeply invested in seeing Ukraine win the war against Russia. Per a New York Times profile on Americans volunteering in Ukraine, he not only fought in Ukraine, but he even tried to recruit Afghan nationals to fight against Russia on the front lines. Trump has pledged to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine if he were elected.
