Trump: Nathan Wade “Special”, in more ways than one
Donald Trump has sounded off on the resignation of Nathan Wade from the Fulton County RICO case, where Trump faces several felony charges. In a statement via Truth Social, Trump rejoiced at the resignation calling it “the equivalent of Deranged Jack Smith getting “canned”” and “BIG STUFF”. He also referred to Nathan Wade as “Special in more ways than one”.
Nathan Wade resigned following a ruling from Judge Scott McAfee, stating that the case couldn’t continue unless Wade or DA Fani Willis resigned. This came following an attempt by multiple defendants to disqualify Willis from the case due to allegations of an “inappropriate relationship” between the two that allegedly started years prior to Wade being hired onto the case. Ultimately, Judge McAfee concluded that he couldn’t prove this, but did give credence to “the appearance of impropriety” and therefore Wade or Willis had to go.
While the disqualification that the defendants were seeking in this case did not happen, Judge McAfee did have a lot to say in his decision. One of them being that he is open to issuing a gag order on the prosecution, preventing them from mentioning the case in any public forum. This can be a massive win for the Trump team in attempts at swaying public opinion on the case, if it makes it to trial before the 2024 election in November.
Somehow, Trump is managing to take legal wins in these cases, and it’s unclear if any will make it to trial, or even if they do, if they will sway the election in Biden’s favor.
