Israel takes control of Iran’s skies

Within 48 hours of starting its war on Iran, Israel said it gained air superiority over the western part of the country, including Tehran. Israeli warplanes began dropping bombs from within Iranian skies instead of relying on expensive long-range missiles.

This is a feet that Russia has not been able to achieve over Ukraine, despite being 3.5 years into a war they instigated when they invaded Ukraine entirely in February of 2022.

Since striking Iran on June 13, 2025, Israel has dominated in their battles with Iran. Israel was able to take out multiple Iranian nuclear scientists and nuclear sites, as well as many of the top members of Iran’s military.

Iran responded with a barrage of missiles, most of which Israel’s Iron Dome was able to shoot down. But some of Iran’s missiles did penetrate Israel’s defenses, and 24 Israeli civilians were killed.

But this is not a conflict of two evenly powerful nations. Israel has taken out Iranian commanders and damaged nuclear sites. Iran has killed civilians. And Israel now has control of skies within Iran.

While Israel is firmly in control, this is still a very dangerous, volatile situation, that could spin out of control if an off ramp is not found. But Israel knows the stakes, and will make sure that they do what needs to be done to ensure the survival of their state.

The Iranian regime has called for the annihilation of the Jewish state. Because of this, allowing Tehran to develop a nuclear weapon was never an option for Israel.
