Trump is overwhelming his opponents with Executive Orders

Since coming back to office, President Trump has signed more than 75 executive orders, which have resulted in about 100 lawsuits in response. At this point, most of Trump’s executive orders have survived.
This has caused widespread consternation on the political left. Many left wing outlets have described Trump’s executive orders as “waging war on the US government.” They have called it a blitzkrieg and criminal as well.
The left’s anger is not surprising, but their accusations that Trump’s executive orders have gone against the Constitution do not pass muster. They are free to, and have, challenged Trump in court, and sometimes they win and are able to strike Trump’s orders down, and sometimes they aren’t.
The responses to the executive orders are not something of note. What is of note is how overwhelmed Trump’s political opponents are by them. Even though they know that Mr. Trump is flooding the zone, they do not know how to effectively respond.
Almost everything that Trump does outrages the political left. But so much is happening, that they don’t have the time and energy to respond to and be enraged by, every single action Trump does.
They have also been caught up in some things Trump does, while not noticing others. And in the left’s attempt to placate their base with hyperbole about Trump’s ills, they have fallen into the trap of taking the sides of very unpopular arguments, mostly to do with immigration and trans issues.
Some on the political left are saying that they need to strongly oppose everything Trump does, while some say that they need to lay low and “roll over and play dead.” Neither tactic seems to suffice for a baying and extreme Democratic base.
It enrages the left even more that while doing so much that they hate, Mr Trump still has a net positive approval rating, and is in a much better political position than he was in at any time in his first term.
Frustrated, bewildered and overwhelmed. That is the state that most of President Donald Trump’s opponents are in. There is a ways to go in Trump’s term, but for now, Donald Trump’s opponents are not in a good place.
