President Donald Trump’s approval rating hit 53% during his 3rd week as president, according to a new CBS poll released Sunday. This is Trump’s best ever rating in CBS’ approval rating poll, dating back to his first term as President.

According to CBS, the words voters use to best describe Trump are “tough,” “energetic,” “focused” and “effective”. This is heartening for the Trump White House as during the campaign, the opposition attempted to brand the 78 year old, as “having lost a step”.

Perhaps the most notable figure in the poll, is that 70% of voters say he’s ‘Doing what he promised during the campaign’. Some of Trump’s campaign promises, when actually implemented, have seemingly caught people in Washington DC by surprise.

Trump promised increased ICE raids and to create a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with Elon Musk that investigated Federal spending and use of tax-payer money. But still, many are shocked at the rate of which the Government has been re-shaped just three weeks after his inauguration.

ICE has increased their activity in cities nationwide, and have been met with protestors that oppose their plans to increase deportations.

DOGE has also been working at a lightning pace. Already, The US Agency for International Development (USAID) appears to be shutting down, with their website being completely offline and the name on their building has been removed. Trump has instructed DOGE to audit the Pentagon and Treasury. Elon Musk also indicated that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) would be shut down after tweeting “CFPB RIP”.

Democrats in congress have multiple times, attempted to gain access to Federal Agency buildings, but have been denied entry.
