Supporters celebrate as Trump spars with reporters: “We are so back”
In a press conference on President Trump’s new $500B AI Stargate initiative, Trump was back to his old ways of sparring with members of the White House press pool, this time on his decision to pardon or commute the sentences of protestors that participated in the Jan. 6th riots.
“Listen to me for a second, stop interrupting” said Trump to NBC’s Peter Alexander as he attempted to explain his decision to let free many of the Jan. 6th protestors.
“They’ve served years in jail and if you look at the American public, the American public are tired of it”, said Trump.
The President was flanked by business moguls Larry Ellison of Oracle, Sam Altman of OpenAI, and Masayoshi Son of SoftBank. All three have pledged to invest billions of dollars in building new AI data centers, leading to an estimated 100,000 new American jobs.
This interaction with the press undoubtedly echoed those during Trump’s first term, giving a preview of what might unfold over the next four years. On X, supporters expressed their enthusiasm with phrases like “we are so back,” and “he’s back”, highlighting why spars with the media are one of the reasons why they wanted him back in the White House.
