Anti-Trump District Attorney Fani Willis Removed From Trump Prosecution

The known anti-Trump Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis has been removed from the election-interference prosecution of Donald Trump. The decision was made by a Georgia appeals court.

The reason Willis has been removed is that she had a romantic relationship with a top deputy, which they say disqualifies her entire office. The appeals court found that a “significant appearance of impropriety” was enough to potentially taint the case in the public eye.

“While we recognize that an appearance of impropriety generally is not enough to support disqualification, this is the rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings,” the court wrote in Thursday’s opinion.

Willis will continue to fight to stay on the case, as her team has asked the state’s Supreme Court to review the appeals court’s decision. The possibility of Willis’ disqualification has loomed large ever since it became known that she had a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor she hired to help handle the case.

The defendants argued that Willis financially benefited from the relationship with Wade, who defense attorneys say covered several vacations for the pair. Many in the media tried to downplay this conflict of interest.

This decision could potentially doom the case against President-elect Trump. But don’t expect the attacks on Donald Trump to stop, as the American left has the power to continue their crusade against Trump for the entirety of his second term. They will try other avenues.

But for now, at least one dubious line of attack on the soon to be 47th President of the United States has lost some of its energy. Nevertheless, it would be advisable to buckle up. There will be many more attacks on Trump coming.
