Kamala Harris touts disaster response in North Carolina: ‘The best we can do’
Kamala Harris visited North Carolina on Saturday to tour affected areas and meet with state and local leaders to discuss the ongoing effort to provide aid and disaster relief to local residents.
In a meeting with Gov. Roy Cooper of North Carolina and Mayor Esther Manheimer of Asheville, N.C., she touted the Biden-Harris’ Administration’s response to the Hurricane:
“The work that’s happening here that is so positively impacting so many people is really an example of the best we can do when we bring resources together at the federal, state, and local level.”
Hurricane Helene’s death toll has risen to 232 across 6 states, as rescue operations are continuing to locate residents that are still unaccounted for.
