Top Rated Pollster: Trump leads Harris by 3 Nationally
Donald Trump leads Kamala Harris by 3 points nationally, according to a new poll conducted after the ABC debate.
The poll conducted between September 11th an September 12th by Atlas Intel poll shows the former President leading the Vice President 51% to 48% just 51 days away from the general election. The poll surveyed 1,775 registered and has a margin of error of 2%. Atlas Intel was the most accurate pollster in the 2020 election. Their final national poll had Biden beating Trump by 4.7%. Biden won popular vote by 4.5%.
At this stage in the campaign, Trump has seemingly entered uncharted territory. For context, Trump only led one national poll in the entire 2020 cycle, and it was a +1 by Rasmussen, a historically favorable pollster for Trump. Now, Trump has led 3 national polls in the past 10 days, including a surprising NYT/Siena poll which had him +1 against Harris.
In an electoral college system that historically favors Trump, this poll will be welcome news for his campaign, especially after what many felt was a lackluster debate performance against Harris last week.
For the Harris campaign, many saw last weeks debate performance as a turning point in the campaign. This poll may be a sign of that, but in the opposite way they were expecting.
