Dak Prescott Becomes The Highest Paid Player In NFL History
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a 4 year deal, worth $240 million. This is a contract extension that will make Prescott the highest paid player in NFL history and keep him in Dallas through the 2028 season.
Of the $240 million, $231 million is guaranteed, the most guaranteed money in NFL history. His $60 million annual average salary is also the highest in league history. The Cowboys announced the deal Sunday morning.
This deal helped the Cowboys avert a potential salary cap problem and kept them from needing to find a franchise quarterback through free- agency, trade, or the draft.
Prescott finished last season with 4,516 passing yards and a league-leading 36 touchdown passes. The three-time Pro Bowler is the third-leading passer in Cowboys history, behind only Tony Romo and Troy Aikman, and his 202 career TD passes trail only Romo (248) on the franchise’s all-time list.
