The International Criminal Court Prosecuting Netanyahu Is Wrong

The International Criminal Court prosecuting Netanyahu is wrong. In the wake of ICC prosecutor Karim Khan announcing that he will seek charges against Netanyahu, it’s time to get a clear understanding of the situation. Thankfully, the Biden administration hasn’t completely sold Israel out, and has announced its firm opposition to the ICC action.

Israel is facing a terrorist group that has vowed to repeat the October 7th massacres again and again, until the end of the Jewish state. Therefore, Israel has no choice but to completely dismantle Hamas. The fact that Hamas has embedded itself within the population, thus guaranteeing Palestinians die, should fall squarely on their shoulders, not Israel’s.

The blaming of Israel for the situation Hamas carefully created has been one of the most shocking things ever seen. Nevertheless, the ratio of civilians to combatants killed in Gaza is no worse than the ratio from any other major power in a war. In fact, it might be better.

This is despite Hamas meticuloulsy creating the perfect plan to maximize civilian deaths in a war with Israel. But the anti Israel mob doesn’t care about facts or nuance. They have one false narrative; Israel is “genociding” Palestinians. If you present them the facts, they either ignore them or claim it is propaganda.

Their reaction is the same if you apply the same logic on other situations that you are applying for Israel. The Allies firebombing of Dresden in World War 2 had much less regard for civilian lives than Israel does for Gazans. And Nazis were not embedding themselves amongst the German population like Hamas is. Were the Allies genociders? Were the Nazis actually the good guys because of this? No? Why not? We know why. Hatred of Israel.

At the same time Israel is fighting terror group Hamas, they are also being attacked by Iran and skirmishing with Hezbollah. Israel are the victims, and are making sure a genocidal terrorist group can never repeat October 7th again. But of course pesky things like facts are forgotten by the anti Israel mob.

If the ICC calls Netanyahu a war criminal, it will have given terrorists the perfect road map. Massacre the other side, and then retreat and embed yourself within your people’s population. Then, the side that was attacked must either let you get away, or kill you, but be accused of genocide.

The double standards and attacks on Israel are so heinous, it’s hard to believe that these organizations are just naive. hey seem to want to help Hamas in the propaganda battle. Either way, Israel will finish the job. They are used to the deck being stacked against them.

Israel is used to offering peace many times, the Palestinians rejecting it, and then Israel being blamed. They are used to fighting for their very survival, winning a war, and then giving conquered lands back to the Arabs. Israel is used to leaving Gaza, the Gazan population electing Hamas, and then Hamas attacking Israel. None of this has broken Israel’s resolve.

The International Criminal Court prosecuting Netanyahu is wrong. But with the ICC and the United Nations for that matter, being on the wrong side of history is nothing new.
