Robert F Kennedy Jr Has Picked Nicole Shanahan As His Running Mate

Robert F Kennedy Jr has picked Nicole Shanahan as his running mate. Shanahan, 38, is a lawyer and philanthropist. Kennedy made the announcement at a campaign event in Oakland, Shanahan’s home town. There had been wide speculation about who Kennedy would pick as his VP, with guesses ranging from Tulsi Gabbard to New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Kennedy said he liked her for Shanahan’s commitment to health and organic foods. He also praised her “deep, inside knowledge” of how the technology industry uses artificial intelligence to manipulate the public and identify government abuses.

Shanahan has no previous political experience. She had already donated over $4 million to Kennedy’s campaign, including to his 30 second Super Bowl ad. Shanahan is the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin. She has a history of supporting progressive causes, and donated to the Biden campaign in 2020.

Unsurprisingly, many on the left wing are panicking. Why would they panic? Kennedy can’t possibly win the election. That is definitely true. Kennedy will not be walking into the White House on January 20, 2025. But he can take enough votes from Biden to give former President Donald Trump another term.

While there has been speculation on which side Kennedy would take more votes away from, Kennedy is clearly on the political left on most issues. In fact, besides his vaccine skepticism, almost all of his policies are pretty left wing. From climate to abortion to talk about racism.

Kennedy’s choice for VP has only solidified that fact. Nicole Shanahan is quite clearly on the political left. While nothing is certain, it is much more likely that Kennedy will take more potential Biden votes than Trump votes. And in an election that is likely to come down to a few swing states, that could be the thing that tips the result.

With Biden’s poll numbers continuing to fall, this is just more bad news for the President. But there is a long way to go before the election. A lot can change.
