Grading President Biden’s 2024 State Of The Union: An Unmitigated Disgrace

Is there a grade lower than F? Finding one might be necessary to properly grade President Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address. President Joe Biden delivered his state of the union tonight, amid division at home and chaos abroad. He gave his speech with the backdrop of the worst border crisis in history, which his policies have fueled, demagogic racism from the Biden administration, the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas war. It was an unmitigated disgrace.

Biden gave his speech in the midst of record low polls numbers. Americans see the economy and cost of living has being much worse under President Biden than under President Trump. There was controversy even before Biden’s speech began. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene wore a MAGA hat and told Biden to “say her name” of the woman who was killed by an illegal immigrant.

Eager to change topics, Biden began his speech about Ukraine. While support of Ukraine is justified, Biden, as usual, misrepresented the Republican position on the issue. He then lied about January 6th. About January 6th, Biden lied about an insurrection happening, when no such thing took the place.

Biden said that you can’t love your country only when you win. Tell that to leftists when Trump won in 2016. In fact, tell that to the left even when they are in power, as they are consistently less patriotic than conservatives are. Biden then continued by attacking on abortion and IVF.

What followed was a litany of far left talking points and lies. It was a shocking thing to watch. The President clearly did not want to address the fact that American feel much worse about the state of affairs under him than under President Trump.

President Biden had the audacity to say that the state of the union was strong. His Democratic sycophants in the chamber then chanted “4 more years.” It was difficult to fathom how people of sound mind could say and think what we saw tonight.

Biden was forced to say the name of Laken Riley, the woman who was killed by an illegal immigrant. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene responded “shame on you!” In an effort to deflect, Biden conflated the effort to stop illegal immigration with xenophobia. It was shameful to see.

Later, Biden, in typical fashion, demagogued on race. It seems like Biden will not ever be able to get off his claims of oppression of African Americans. It is not only false, but only divides America further. Americans are tired of the guilt tripping from Biden.

Biden called trying to stop transgenderism from being taught as a fact “banning books.” This type of Orwellian lying about reality is scarcely believable. His is the most far left, extreme ideology in American history. Sadly, it seems that no matter who leads the Democratic Party, these policies will only continue or get worse.

The only thing that got bipartisan support was Biden’s denunciation of Hamas. As was his statement that Israel had a right to defend itself, and noting that Hamas hides under hospitals and uses Gazans as human shields.

Unfortunately, because of the far left in his base, Biden had to cater to the Palestinian side and insinuate that Israel was doing anything wrong. Biden saying that he is a lifelong supporter of Israel might have angered the far left of his party.

It’s hard to see how the division in this country ever ends. The two sides have fundamentally different views about how society should be. Whether it be on race, LGBT, immigration, taxes or foreign policy. The fact that Republicans are started to fight back forcefully rather than lie down, means that these battles are set to go on for a long time.

Biden’s grade on Partisanship: F; President Biden spent most of his time going after Republicans, pushing far left talking points and lies, and demagoguery about the supposed Republican Boogeyman.

Biden’s grade on addressing the issues: D-; President Biden largely avoided the fact that the majority of Americans do not believe we are on the right track. He ignored Americans’ negative views on the economy and illegal immigration. He obviously did not try to refute the fact that more Americans view America under Trump as better than under Biden.

Biden’s grade on coherence: D; While Biden had many slip ups, because the bar for him is so low, his speaking was not below expectations. He managed the bare minimum of mostly getting coherent sentences out and not completely fumbling.

Biden’s overall Grade: F; President Biden’s 2024 State of the Union speech was quite likely the worst state of the union speech in American history. It was full of demagoguery, lies, and avoidance of the issues that Americans care the most about. After watching this speech, if one still supports Biden for President, they might be too far gone.
