Biden Sees Trouble Brewing, Will Campaign in Nevada and Arizona on Tuesday
Joe Biden will participate in campaign events in both Nevada and Arizona on Tuesday, as he trails in the polls in both states to Former President Donald Trump. Biden will look to right the ship in the battleground states, as the general election campaign kicks into full swing.
Biden narrowly won Arizona and Nevada in 2020, but according to the Real Clear Polling average, he currently trails Trump in both states by about 5 points. The Real Clear Polling aggregate also shows that Biden hasn’t led a poll in Arizona for almost a year, the last one being a Public Opinion Strategies Poll where he led by only 1, well within the margin of error.
In Nevada it’s a similar story. The last time Biden led in a poll was a Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll administered in October 2023, where Biden was leading by 3. Since then, the latest poll from Bloomberg/Morning Consult has Trump leading by 6. A 9 point swing.
Biden does have a strategy to make up ground, and it comes in the campaign ad he posted yesterday. A clear play at making Trump look like a dangerous wannabe autocrat, that will do anything to get ahold of power.
While Trump’s ‘Bloodbath’ comments were taken out of context by Biden and Democrats, it is a sign of things to come in what will likely be the most divisive political campaign in history for both parties. It makes for good engagement on social media, but will it drive out votes in favor of Biden in Nevada, Arizona, and other swing states? That is yet to be determined.
