RFK Jr. Fighting to get on the Ballot in Michigan, Spelling Trouble for Biden
Independent Presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. continues his quest to get on state ballots, before the November general election. One of these states being the crucial battleground state of Michigan.
RFK Jr. held a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday Infront of a crowd of more than 700 of his supporters as he attempts to gather enough signatures to get on the state’s general election ballot.
The Democratic Party is actively suing RFK Jr, accusing him of illegally coordinating with an outside group to gather the required signatures needed to appear on a ballot. RFK Jr. has been accusing the DNC of suppressing his campaign dating back to when he was running in the Democratic Primary. In his speech in Grand Rapids, he stated, “We should be saying to people we’re not a banana republic here in the United States, that anybody who wants to run gets to run.” In order to get on the Michigan ballot, he needs 12,000 valid voter signatures.
RFK Jr’s potential appearance on the Michigan is deeply troubling for Biden, and the DNC knows this. A recent Fox News Poll shows Biden losing by 5 points to Donald Trump in the Great Lake State, if RFK Jr. appears on the ballot.
In another move to try and quell his candidacy, the DNC has unveiled billboards in the state , saying he is “powered by MAGA/Trump” alluding to his super PAC receiving donations from a former Trump Mega-Donor, Timothy Mellon. However, this hasn’t stopped Kennedy Jr, as he’s even hinted at the possibility of running as a Libertarian.
Although his campaign is still a longshot, RFK Jr. has vowed to continue his campaign through the general election.
