Lazio Player Ratings vs Atletico Madrid
Lazio drew their Champions League opener to Atletico Madrid, 1-1 in dramatic fashion on Tuesday. Their game tying goal was a headed goal scored by goal keeper Ivan Provedel. Here are their player ratings.
Starting XI
Ivan Provedel: 10-What can we say? Nothing he could do to stop Atletico’s first goal, which took a wicked deflection off of Daichi Kamada. Beyond that, he was the MVP. Made a fantastic point blank save in the 71st minute. Scored game tying goal in final moment of added time.
Alessio Romagnoli: 6-Can’t really say anything bad about his performance.
Patric: 6-Was solid, and provided attacking options down the flank when Lazio had the ball.
Luca Pellegrini: 5-Was fine, but had to come off in the 38th minute due to injury.
Luis Alberto: 4.5-Nothing out of the ordinary, but would have liked to see more going forward.
Matias Vecino: 4.5-Was good in the beginning of the match, but seemed to fade later.
Daichi Kamada: 4-Extremely unlucky to have Atletico’s first goal deflect off his foot as he tried to block the shot. Was part of a Lazio midfield that controlled possession early in the match.
Ciro Immobile: 4-Nothing special from him.
Mattia Zaccagni: 6-Was dangerous going forward.
Felipe Anderson: 3.5-Like with Ciro Immobile, he did not provide many options going forward.
Subs
Manuel Lazzari: 5-Replaced injured Luca Pellegrini in the 38th minute.
Gustav Isaksen: 4.5-Replaced Felipe Anderson in the 61st minute. Pretty anonymous.
Matteo Guendouzi: 6-Came in for Daichi Kamada in the 61st minute. Provided an actual spark and creativity.
Danilo Cataldi: 5.5-Replaced Matias Vecino in the 76th minute and had a lashed shot that was saved in added time.
Pedro: 5-Came in for Mattia Zaccagni in the 76th minute. Helped in the attack, but didn’t provide much bite.
