West Ham Player Ratings vs Brighton

West Ham beat Brighton 3-1 in a classic David Moyes side performance at the Amex Stadium. West Ham forwent possession, packed it in defensively, and were lethal on the counter attack. They were near perfect for 80 minutes. Brighton turned it on in the end, but it was too little too late.

Areola: 8 –Had fantastic saves on the night. Unlucky to not get a clean sheet.

Emerson: 7 –Good defending on the left, and almost got himself on the scoresheet.

Ogbonna: 6 – Did his job defensively for most of the game, but struggled near the end where he could’ve done more on Brighton’s chances.

Zouma: 7 – Solid work anchoring the backline and put in some good tackles in transition play.

Coufal: 7 Put in some good tackles on the right. Had a crucial one on mitoma.

Alvarez: 6 – Did a decent job in the middle, Had an unnecessary foul that got him a yellow and a dangerous free kick fr BHA.

Paqueta: 7 –A pest defensively in the midfield.

Ward-Prowse: 7.5 – Goal scorer and had a fantastic block on Gilmour.

Soucek: 6 – Took a rough hit that forced him to be subbed off.

Bowen: 8 – Cracking finish from Bowen on the second goal. The first touch was one you could watch all day long. Also got himself an assist on the third.

Antonio: 9 – Played his part in all three goals. Great work on the first, a fantastic outlet to Benrahma on the second, and did not forgive on the third. What a game from him.

Subs

Benrahma: 7.5 – Marvelous assist to Bowen on the second goal. Looked promising

Kehrer: N/A – No meaningful involvements.

Ings: 6.5 –Had a header that might’ve prevented a Brighton goal.

Fornals: 7 – Did his job defensively and kept the ball when needed.

Moyes: 8 – Got his tactics right. Great performance from the Hammers.
