San Jose, CA kicks off Pride Week Celebrations
San Jose, California and the broader Silicon Valley area is kicking off their pride week celebrations this week marking the end of pride month…2 months after pride month?
The apparent reasoning behind this is because the celebrations that happened in San Francisco during June (the usual pride month) would overshadow the events in Silicon Valley. It’s worth noting that most consider S.F. part of Silicon Valley.
The events are open to the public and to people of all ages. The events include Drag Shows, Gogo Dancers, a “Liberation Stage”, and an appearance from a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The slogan for the event is “Live Out Proud!”. Elected Officials, Corporations, and local Sports Teams will be in attendance for the event.
