Player Ratings – Chelsea Fall to West Ham
Chelsea fell to West Ham United 3-1 in what was an extremely poor performance by Chelsea. The London Derby saw Chelsea have a decent first half, but an absolutely shocking second half. They were better off playing their starting 11 the whole game, even with an injured Chukwuemenka, because their subs came on and dropped a load of stinkers.
Starting 11
Sanchez: 5 – Probably should’ve punched the ball out in the first West Ham goal, but was timid off his line.
Colwill: 3.5 – Got beat easily on the Antonio goal.
Silva: 6 – So calm in the back. always one step ahead, but his fellow CB’s let him down on the day.
Disassi: 2 – Made some poor and unnecessary fouls. Gave the ball away and subsequently probably could’ve done more to block Antonio’s goal.
Chilwell: 5 – The captain did not stand out in any way, but also did not make any mistakes. He did play a role in the Chelsea goal.
Gallagher: 5 – Was competitive in the midfield against Paqueta, but lost his mark on a corner kick that ended in a west ham headed goal.
Fernandez: 5 – Decent passing on the day, but missed a pen.
Gusto: 5.5 – Showed his youth at times, but had some good tackles and was at times a threat going forward.
Chukwuemenka: 6.5 – Goal scorer, but had to come off injured in the first half.
Sterling: 6.5 –Started off the game with two horrendous crosses, then made some darting runs with great balls driven in that should’ve been finished. Also won a penalty.
Jackson: 5 – Decent hold up play, but should’ve finished at least one chance.
SUBS
Mudryk: 3 – He no doubt has pace and a fantastic dribbling ability, but that means nothing without the end result, which was lacking once again tonight.
Caicedo: 1 – Did not live up to his hefty price tag today, poor all around. Gave up a pen. Chelsea fleeced by Brighton?
Madeueke: 3 – Quite poor coming on.
Burstow: N/A – No meaningful involvements
