Chelsea Player Ratings vs Liverpool

Chelsea and Liverpool played to a 1-1 draw in the season opener at Stamford Bridge. It was an entertaining game in which Chelsea were probably slightly the better side, but ultimately a draw is a fair result.

Starting 11

Sanchez: 7 – Had a good game for it being an unexpected start for him.

Diasi: 7.5 – Solid in the back and got himself on the scoresheet.

Silva: 7 – Anchored the backline well, had a few giveaways but made up for it with some spectacular outlets and tackles.

Cowill: 7 – Made it very difficult for Liverpool to get in behind.

James: 7.5 – Defended well and was very involved in the attack, swung in some great balls that were unfortunate to not have anyone at the end of them.

Fernandez: 9 – Such an elegant performance, his ability to keep the ball and find the right player is unreal. Best player on the pitch.

Gallagher: 7 – Complimented Enzo well.

Chukwuemeka: 6 – The 19 year old put in a fairly good shift and will look to improve.

Chilwell: 7.5 – Was a real headache for Liverpool down the left and made many good runs

Sterling: 5 – Struggled to get himself involved.

Jackson: 7 – First game in Chelsea blue, and while he failed to get himself on the scoresheet, he was very involved in the attack and nearly won Chelsea the game in the end with a glorious run.
