Player Ratings – USA Wins The Nations League

USA beat Canada 2-0 in the Nations League Final in Las Vegas. It was a dominant game by USA as they created a multitude of chances throughout the game. The game capped off a dominant tournament for the USA where they did not allow a single goal and showed the world that they have the potential to be a force on the world stage. There were a lot of questions going into the set of games, with an interim coach in BJ Callaghan and an uncertain future, but USA prevailed. We can now start referring to USA as the Kings of CONCACAF.

Player Ratings

Starting 11

Turner: 8 – Made 4 saves and made the box his.

Robinson: 7.5 –Not much got past him on the left side and had a timely clearance on a play that would’ve probably ended in a goal by Canada.

Richards: 8 – Great headed goal and almost got himself a second that hit the post.

Zimmerman: 7.5 – Was great in the air and had a good effort on a volley in the first half.

Scally: 7– Had a tougher time in the second half but held his own. Made Davies switch sides in the first half. Enough said.

Musah: 8 – Stable force in the USA midfield. Had some important defensive clearances and recoveries.

Aaronson: 6.5 – Didn’t stand out much or get many touches, but he was quite stable in the midfield.

Reyna: 9 – Best player on the pitch for USA. He served up a peach of a ball on the corner and had a lovely assist to Balogun. Unfortunate that he went off injured.

Balogun: 8 – Made some fantastic runs in behind and deservedly got himself on the scoresheet. He’s had two great games to start his international career.

Weah: 7 – Had a good run in the first half and did some good work defensively when the pressure was on by Canada in the second half.
