Player Ratings – LA Galaxy Draw St. Louis City SC

The LA Galaxy played to a 1-1 draw with St. Louis City SC at City Park. It was an entertaining game with both sides getting their fair share of chances. Saint Louis City SC were first to get on the board with a spectacular finish by Nicholas Gioacchini. The LA Galaxy followed up with some good subs and were able to level the score on a goal by Daniel Aguirre off a great cross from Douglas Costa. The 1-1 draw was probably a fair result in this one.

Bond: 6/10 – Had a couple first half saves but distribution wasn’t the best.

Neal: 5/10 – Combined well with midfielders in the first half but lost his mark on Gioacchini on the goal and gave up a dangerous chance after a bad touch in the midfield.

Caceres: 7/10 – Solid force on the backline with effective headers and clearances.

Aude: 7/10 – Was not affected by the constant boos from the STL crowd. Had a good game on the left.

Calegari 7/10 – defended the right side well and got stuck in on some challenges.

Brugman 7/10 – Had a good ball into Jovelic in the first half, and cut off some important sequences by STL.

Delgado 6/10 – Had little influence on the attack but was stable in the midfield.

Puig: 8/10 – Popped up well in the pockets of space, and pulled the strings in the midfield. Such an elegant style of play.

Costa: 8.5/10 – Best player on the pitch for the Galaxy. Looked up for it the whole game and provided the crucial takeaway and assist for the Galaxy goal.

Boyd: 5/10 –Didn’t provide much going forward.

Jovelic: 6/10 Had some good runs in behind and managed to get a shot on frame, but not much service for him to benefit from.

SUBS

Leerdam: 7.5/10 – Had a couple of crucial tackles on 1v1 plays.

Aguirre: 8/10 – Fantastic back post run and got his goal with a good finish.

Judd: 7/10 – Crucial hold up play that led to the Galaxy goal.

Mavinga: 6.5/10 – Made no mistakes.
